THIS PROPERTY HAS BEEN A HOME TO THIS FAMILY FOR MANY YEARS & SO YOU MAY FIND THAT YOU WANT TO UPDATE PARTS TO MAKE IT FEEL LIKE YOUR OWN FAMILY HOME

Currently, homes in Mynydd Isa are coming on the market and finding new owners at an astonishing rate. Why is it that the Mynydd Isa area is so popular? Probably to do with the close proximity to both Mold and Buckley, although its own small parade of local shops can provide most of the services you require.

Now, many of us will have driven past this unassuming looking home on Mold Road without giving it a second glance but having had the pleasure of visiting recently, that has been our loss.

It comprises half of pair of semi detached homes on a corner plot with a pedestrian access to the front door, across a section of the generous lawned garden which stretches around three sides to the detached garage at the rear with its raised veranda to the side.

The white UPVC “front” door is found half way along the side elevation of the home and opens into an ‘L’ shaped inner hallway. Immediately on the left is a deep under-stair store, the perfect spot for hiding away all the outdoor coats while leaving them conveniently to hand.

To the right is the door into the main lounge, a spacious room kept pleasingly bright by the large bay window overlooking the front garden. Turning back from here into the body of the room is a little like stepping through a time warp into the 70s, as almost the whole back wall is taken up by a raw brick fireplace which extends either side into twin side stools also of brick and featuring recesses for the placing of ornaments….it’s going to make a comeback one day ??

Moving further along the hall past the bottom of the stairs another door opens into the formal dining room, or a study, office or hobby room, it’s your choice. Alternatively, if yours is the sort of family that thrives on conflict, a secondary lounge that can be used as a sulking room is always handy…
From here the large window which starts from floor level looks out into a glass roofed lean-to outside the back door, which serves as a store for potted plants and all the sorts of “stuff” found in every home, with few of these managing to accommodate it this conveniently.

At the head of the hall we come into the kitchen with its fully ceramic floor. This large room, although in excellent condition is undeniably dated, in a similar way to the style of the lounge but if this is of little concern to you, it remains perfectly workable and is something that could be addressed in the fullness of time as you work towards your dream home. There are units fitted to three of the walls providing copious amounts of storage and housing all the necessary labour saving machinery we are so unwilling to live without, topped off by a small breakfast bar protruding from one of the side units giving not only somewhere to eat but an additional work surface.
In the far corner is the wall mounted Worcester Combi gas central heating boiler, conveniently positioned for easy maintenance.

Outside the back door we find the previously mentioned lean-to storage area from where we access the rear garden. Here there is a large paved area which, not being overlooked is an excellent spot for relaxing in the sunshine. Not quite yet though, obviously…but the way things are going it won't be long!!
At the far side of this is the raised veranda lying alongside the detached garage. This is covered by a perspex roof and provides an excellent alternative venue for relaxation when the weather turns, as we all know it will. Towards the rear of the veranda is a side door into the garage and a small covered storage area. There is a short drive in front of the garage offering further parking for at least one car.

Returning indoors and climbing the stairs to the landing the first thing we come to is the smallest of the bedrooms which, as expected in the vast majority of three bedroom semis, is strictly suitable as a single room only (still a decent sized room compared to a lot of ‘new builds). However with the possibility looming of government advice to work from home whenever possible, this would make an excellent home office.

Adjacent to here and also overlooking the neat front garden is the principal bedroom. This is a comfortably proportioned double room as befits its status and, with the length of the garden keeping the road fairly distant, it escapes much of the traffic noise I expected which was a pleasant surprise.

Moving towards the rear we come to the second double room which proved to be something of an eye opener, unless you are a fan of Barbie and Ken. Rarely have I seen such lavish use of pink paint but should you find this a bit too garish then changing it would be the work of a busy Saturday morning, so it is of little consequence. What you are left with is a good sized room with additional fitted storage cupboards currently containing linen but still offering useful extra space.

Last but not least there is the family bathroom or, if you are feeling pedantic, the family shower room. This is the one room that has been dragged kicking and screaming into the 21st century, with its fashionable light grey ceramic wall tiles reaching to chest height, its modern fixtures on the pedestal hand basin, low level flush lavatory and walk in shower. This last item features a grout free UPVC lining to the walls, making cleaning simplicity itself while giving a pleasingly contemporary appearance. Crikey, I’m sounding like an estate agent…

This is very much a home from another time in its presentation but thankfully, that time was during an era when builders wore flat caps, smoked roll-ups and really knew what they were doing. This is shown in the way that homes such as this have stood the test of time; yes, they need some up-dating and being treated to the stamp of your own personality but isn’t that half the fun of taking on a new home? When completed to your own specification you would be left with somewhere very attractive and capable of facing another few decades without serious attention. A solid house, in a popular and sought after location with local shops and schools in easy reach; call us now if you want to avoid being disappointed.

Now, ‘unlike the other estate agents’, we actually OPEN 7 DAYS a WEEK and are physically in the office, so that you can view this home when you want – but please respect the owners wishes, as they would yours and call us as we accompany every viewing – call 01352 837 837
